Creating interior space that has true spiritual integrity that nurtures you at your core our Founder and Creative Director of our company Functional Creative Design, always feels it is important to truly educate our clients on our approach to the “work” or what she likes to express is collaborating and producing what we are passionate about.

One core belief is spiritual connection to one’s interior space; we co-create and re-design different types of interior spaces this really resonates into any typology be it hospitality – commercial – or residential spaces.

To be able to produce outcome you want you need a space that resonates the energy you are trying to co-create.

So how does one approach this – below we share some questions you can ask yourself +  creative hacks in residential environment that supports your mind.body.spirit as many of us are spending our time working/living in our homes:

1-     Have your space support you – ask yourself how do I walk through my space?

a.     Do you walk in your space and need places to set your keys, mask, hand sanitizer?

            i.     If you answered yes then perhaps a beautiful entrance console to place your items on to have easy access to, this can be a piece that is decorative or none descriptor depending on the other furniture pieces you have nearby because everyone has their personal style we leave it to your intuition to guide you; or you can reach out to use we can create more permeant installation that is integrated into the architecture of your space, the image above show cases more inherently conducive solution to interior architecture.

b. Do you like to take your shoes off when you enter your space? Do you like to have your favorite jackets near bye?

             i.     If you answered yes, then perhaps a beautiful bench that you can also store your favorite footwear and also way too ease into them before leaving the house.

2-    How do I engage with my space? Do you work out in your space? Do you read? Do you write? These the questions we would ask our clients so we can gage what they need and what solutions we can provide to them.

3-    How do I have others engage with my space?

a.     Do you have children, parents, grandparents visiting on weekly, monthly daily bases? Or Do these family members live with you.

          i.     If you answered yes, then what other key elements do you need to integrate within your space to make the space support your other key family members and/or guests?

ii.     Is the Kitchen or Dining Room a place for gathering?

If so to accommodate larger daily meal time you can extend the kitchen counter to accommodate the kids and upgrade you dining table one with extension to accommodate more around the table, we love the functionality of Dulwhich Extension table designed by Matthew Hilton in 2016  The piece’s slender legs draw outward from the corners and maximize legroom and we love that extension is hidden in the table and seats up to 10 people:

4-    What do need to add to my space that will help support my daily routine?

a.     Are you working from home?

          i.     If you have answered yes, then do you stand or sit or both and have you created area in your space to accommodate a home office?

b.     Do you have partner who works from home?

         i.     If you have answered yes, then have you created area for them to also work effectively and efficiently.

Depending on your space there many small hacks you can implant for the home office if you have just yourself and partner and no kids you can adjust area in kitchen to be work area say comfortable counter height stool  can do the trick –  Look for an area that is near a window that connects you to outside create a southing backdrop for home office for yourself or your partner.
