Located on a tree-lined street across from McCarren Park, between the intersection of Greenpoint and Williamsburg, a coveted park in Brooklyn for the two most popular neighborhoods for creatives and sports enthusiasts. The Karimi-MacGougan Residence boasts spectacular, sun-drenched, and unobstructed views of the park.

Functional Creative Design undertook the task of crafting a luxurious space for the creative duo, Karimi and MacGougan, along with their family, including their 4-year-old child and two cherished Chihuahua dogs. Situated in the heart of NYC, our primary fo- cus was to seamlessly blend durability, functionality, and style, catering to the unique needs of this vibrant household.

Maximizing Space and Connectivity: With an open floor plan as our canvas, we designed a layout that maximized space and fostered seamless connectivity between rooms. This strategic arrangement not only facilitated easy supervision of their child and pets but also ensured a harmonious flow throughout the residence.

Fusion of Styles and Colors: Introducing bursts of color throughout the space, we artfully combined modern lines with mid-century modern details in unexpected ways, bridging the gap between two distinct design aesthetics. Selections such as the Zanotta Milano Tweed Dining Table and Zanotta June Dining Chair in Natu- ral Oak, adorned with various colored fabrics in 100% Wool, epitomized contemporary living at its finest. Each piece, carefully curated, tells its own narrative, evoking authentic emotions in the daily lives of the residents.

Tailored Comfort and Safety: At the heart of our design lay a large luxury modular sofa, meticulously customized with optimal depth and durable fabric to accommodate comfortable entertaining and family gatherings. With rounded edges chosen purposefully to minimize the risk of injury for their young son, this bespoke piece epitomized both luxury and safety. Crafted with Kvadrat fabric treated for soil resistance and pet-friendliness, it seamlessly blended practicality with elegance.
