Our founder has background in Psych Counseling with concentration in Art Therapy – creating art as an adult is great way to put what your feeling on to paper – this also allows our inner child to come out and play giving us the mental permission to be free – not that we need any to do so but sometimes our subconscious needs extra encouragement - if you have kids you can also work through these exercises with them too.
Make your mind, body and spirit sing through art therapy exercises:
1- Draw or paint your emotions – in this focus entirely on your feelings and paint it.
2- Create an emotional wheel – using color this activity will have you thinking critically about your emotions.
3- Make a stress painting - Choose colors that represent your stress and jab, scribble and paint your problems away.
4- Make a sock puppet– Sock puppets aren’t just for kids. Make your own and have them act out scenes that make you upset.
5- Use line art – Line is one of the simplest and most basic aspects of art, but it can also contain a lot of emotions. Use simple line art to demonstrate visually how you're feeling.
6- Create a sculpture of your anger -you will never send- For this activity, you’ll make a physical manifestation of anger in your life.
7- Paint inside a heart – Using a heart as a pattern, fill in different parts of the hear with the emotions you’re feeling right now.
